What you probably didn’t know is that the biggest reason for malpractice is the fact that if you do not have extremely clear handwriting then people will not be able to read what you are writing and this is a huge problem. Simply eliminating this would make a big difference in both patient health and the cost of malpractice insurance which are both great for you as a patient.

Another reason electronic medical records are so important is because they are great when it comes to sharing medical photos. What most people don’t realize is faxing over a photo can be very difficult but as long as you have a digital photo you will easily be able to share that with other medical facilities. The one thing you need to understand about why you might need to share medical images is that in the event you are not in your hometown you will still want to be able to get the medical attention you need. One of the reason so many people die is because they don’t get the proper medical attention as quick as they can and that is due in part to the slow filing process and having to get things faxed or mailed to another medical facility.
