The Possibility Of Viagra For Women
Viagra is widely known as a little blue pill that can solve (albeit temporarily) one of the biggest concerns men have about their masculinity and masculine identity: erectile dysfunction. By stimulating the flow of blood to the penis, Viagra solves the erection problem that plagues numerous men. While certainly no panacea â€" it only fixes the physical problem, but has no power to change any psychological problems linked to the impotence â€" the drug is still capable of alleviating more worries than you'd expect. As it is, Viagra can easily be considered an effective, readily available option or men with sexual performance issues at the most basic level. Yet, there is a minor fly in the ointment. Viagra, as a drug, is meant only to fix sexual dysfunction in men. What about women? Women, like men, have their own problems when it comes to matters of sexual arousal and interest. The problem known as female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD), while not as physically obvious as impotence in men, is something that can be very taxing for any woman to have to endure. This problem essentially reduces the woman's ability to feel sexually aroused or to feel almost any form of sensation during intercourse, though cases where the female body is simply unable to achieve orgasm are not unknown. There are ways to help a woman overcome this problem, but none of them have the same level of convenience and ease of use that a dose of Viagra has. With this in mind, one wonders what Viagra might do to the female physiology. FSAD is a problem that is largely caused by a lack of blood flow to the appropriate genital areas of the female anatomy, which is usually accompanied by a lack of natural lubrication. The latter is not exclusive to FSAD, as there are many women who do not become naturally lubricated even during sexual arousal â€" it's a highly individual factor. However, the lack of blood flow is considered to be a clear sign of FSAD, and one that is surprisingly similar to how impotence works in the body. Theoretically, Viagra might have use as a means of increasing the flow of blood to the genital areas, allowing for an increased sensitivity to stimulation. Incidentally, this is exactly how Viagra works to fix things in male impotence situations. While the drug has found some success as a means of counteracting FSAD, the clinical trials have also reflected a lack of effect. The results of different attempts to determine what Viagra does to the female physiology have returned conflicting sets of data. That situation has left the medical community unable to ascertain whether or not there is a legitimate effect. For the time being, Viagra might be obtained to treat FSAD, but only if the doctor is willing to prescribe a drug for off-label use.
